After we spend a few days in Canada we headed south again to Rapid City, South Dakota. We stopped there because we needed to stop after driving all day, also we wanted to see Mt. Rushmore. The kids couldn’t believe it was real!

It was such a good time and good weather to visit the monument. We were struck by how big it is and the beautiful mountains and countryside.

Then we were off again for a two day visit in Orange City, Iowa. Its the home of the Tulip Festival every year! It was such a cute small town in the middle of farmlands.

We were able to stay with good friends from Redding, who work at the University there. It was great to see them and their two little ones.
